Below is a list of typical credit card decline codes that require you to contact your bank, as only the issuer can resolve these issues:

05 – Do Not Honor: The issuer refused the transaction without explanation. Please contact your bank for details.

07 – Pick Up Card (Special Condition): The card is flagged as lost or stolen. Contact your bank immediately.

12 – Invalid Transaction: The payment was rejected due to incorrect information or improper card usage. Your bank can clarify the issue.

41 – Lost Card, Pick Up (Fraudulent): The card has been reported lost and is no longer valid. You must contact your bank to resolve this.

43 – Stolen Card, Pick Up (Fraudulent): The card has been reported stolen. Contact your bank to address the situation.

51 – Insufficient Funds: There isn’t enough money in the account to cover the purchase. You may need to add funds or discuss options with your bank.

54 – Expired Card: The card’s expiration date has passed. You’ll need to request a new card from your bank.

57 – Transaction Not Permitted to Cardholder: Your bank has blocked this type of transaction. Contact them for more information.

65 – Activity Limit Exceeded: The daily transaction limit has been reached. Contact your bank to see if they can increase your limit or suggest alternatives.

91 – Issuer or Switch Inoperative: A temporary issue exists with the card issuer or payment network. Your bank can provide details about the outage.

93 – Transaction Cannot Be Completed, Violation of Law: A legal or regulatory restriction is blocking the purchase. Contact your bank for an explanation.

N7 – CVV2 Failure: The transaction was declined because the CVV code didn’t match or another security check failed. Verify your details with your bank.

R0 or R1 – Stop Payment Order: You’ve requested your bank to block this transaction. Confirm with your bank to make sure it’s intentional.
